Passion Myth #1

We are all designed to serve people but there is a certain group of people that will unleash our passion deep down on the inside that will change everything! None of us has the ability, time, or resources to have a true passion for everyone. It is physically and emotionally impossible, but each of us has a specific group of people that we are uniquely equipped to serve. Finding who that group is will be the most important quest of your life. Find your passion and you will find your life! You will start a life of adventure, fulfillment, joy and at times sheer terror because passion will take you and me outside our comfort zones.

I am a football fanatic! From as far back as I can remember I wanted to play professional football. The older I became, the more it consumed me, right up to meeting with the Eagles when I was 25 years old. For a five year period prior to trying out, I was so driven that everything in my family’s lives revolved around football: what we ate, amount of sleep, if we took vacations, days off, and even sickness! If you would have asked me or anyone that knew me, we all would have said that football is my passion. (My wife would have told you that football was my mistress!) We would all be wrong.

You would be correct in stating that I have an intense interest in the sport, but it cannot be a passion any more than your car can be your spouse! No matter how beautiful your ride is, it will not say “I do” at the alter! Passion cannot be directed at hobbies, jobs, money, business, power, a product or anything not human! Ladies and Gentlemen this is Passion’s foundation. Passion is ALWAYS directed at people. Specifically, it is directed at a certain group of people. Get involved with your church, a charity, civic groups, or a cause. This will help you find who will unleash your fire! Find your Passion and you will find your life!
