Is It Really Passion?

I have been told that Hitler, Osama Bin Laden and Stalin were all very passionate leaders. These men apparently allowed their passion to control them in an evil way. The argument was that passion has the ability to lead you down a dark path if you are not careful.

Is it really Passion?

Can Passion lead you astray?

Could we end up like a Hitler if we allow Passion to consume us?

I think we are confusing Passion with Lust! These men lusted after Power and Position. They wanted to control the world through fear and violence. Nothing they did or represented had anything to do with Passion!

Lust wants to use people. It sees others merely as a tool to get what they want. Lust places no value on life and it makes you its Slave. It deceives you into believing you are above others and that their sole purpose is to help you get what you want. Lust is all about Control.

Passion wants to Serve people. It is driven to help others get what they need. Passion honors people more highly then it does you. Its purpose is to help others to become all they were created to be. Passion is all about Change.

Passion and Lust are Opposites. They are easy to spot and see the differences in others. The challenge comes when you are looking at yourself. The picture can sometimes become muddy because we judge ourselves on our intentions and judge others on their actions.

You have the choice to follow your Passion or your Lust every day. They both reside in you and you decide which one you will feed.

When you choose to help others and put them first you grow your Passion.

When you choose to use others to help yourself you grow your Lust.

Ask this question before you decide: Who will my actions/words benefit?

Choose to feed your passion today and watch the transformation that takes place!
