The average American works 34.4 hours per week as of May 2019.

For People between 25-54, the national average is 40.5 hours per week.

On top of our work week, we have household chores, shopping, food prep, raising kids, paying bills, and entertainment each week.

When you add up all of this, we have a very busy schedule, and if asked, most would tell you that they work hard!

The truth is this is AVERAGE, NOT HARD Work!

Hard work is what you do on top of all the stuff you have to do.

It’s what you’ve done:

AFTER you put in your eight hours.

AFTER you’ve cleaned your house.

AFTER you’ve done your shopping

AFTER you paid your bills.

AFTER you prepared dinner.

AFTER you helped the kids.

Hard work is above and beyond all these things!

I remember what my first mentor told me:

“Ed, to be successful, you have to work Hard but not the type of hard that other people are doing. They think they are working hard, but in reality, they are just going through the motions believing they are working hard!”

He was a multi-millionaire entrepreneur who had failed many times before becoming ultra-successful.

This mentor was trying to get me to see that Hard Work is above and Beyond my very busy schedule.

I assumed I was working hard because I was working 60 hours a week, raising a family, having church responsibilities, and helping with the household.

His definition of my life was – You are Working to be AVERAGE!

This was NOT what I wanted to hear, and I made excuses why I could not work harder than I was currently.

My job, my chores, my obligations to family and friends—that’s not hard work.

That’s Regular/Average work!

That’s the stuff that every other human being does every single day.

Hard Work Starts after your Regular/Average work ends!

That’s why it’s called HARD WORK and why so few people will do it.

How badly do you want the lifestyle you say you want?

How badly do you want to achieve the success of your Dreams?

How badly do you want the income, health, relationships, peace of mind, and spiritual life of your goals?

The overwhelming majority of people confuse Hard Work with Regular/Average Work.

They think their 40 hours a week will get them to the promised land if they work it hard enough.

The Real Work begins when you are tired, drained, unmotivated, and cranky.

It starts when you want to sit down, put your feet up and watch TV.

Real Work is for Real Men and Women because this is the Real World, not Disneyland.
