Joy is available to us because we were given the greatest Gift ever.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16
Thirty-one years ago, on a Thursday morning in June, my wife and my lives radically changed.
We were in massive debt from my first business failure, distressed, frustrated, discontent, not sleeping well, no energy, and a total lack of peace.
Being the braver, wiser, and more mature, my Wife decided it was time to change our lives.
She told me she was tired of waiting for me to accept the Gift that had been presented to us many times.
That Thursday morning, my Spouse gave me an ultimatum: Accept this Free Gift with her right now, or she would do it without me!
I did like any good husband would do in that situation…I said Yes Dear!
That day was the beginning of a brand-new life.
We were still in massive debt, and our lives were still a mess, BUT for the first time, I had PEACE and JOY.
These were not things I experienced before but had always longed for.
The Gift of Christ is NOT a magic potion that makes everything go away and you will live happily ever after.
We still had to work hard to clean up the mess we had made of our lives, but now we had a foundation of HOPE and a map (The Bible) to find our way.
This is the greatest Gift you will receive but like any gift YOU must decide whether you want it or not.
My wife and I had no idea what we were doing or supposed to say that Thursday in June, but we knew we needed JESUS.
Christmas is the time we celebrate the Free Gift that was given to us.
All you must do to accept this Free Gift is Say YES to JESUS.
Once you do, put your seat belts on because you are going on the greatest adventure!
