Optimism is a strategy we must work on every day, or by default, we will work on becoming a Pessimist!

The definition of Optimism is having or showing hope for the future: expecting good things to happen: HOPEFUL

Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.

Helen Keller

Do you tend to see the positive, even in trying situations? Or do you immediately assume the worst and focus on the negative?

When it comes to how we view the world, most of us fall into one of two categories: The Optimist or The Pessimist.

YOU will decide which one you will be.

According to a study published in Clinical Psychology Review, “Optimism has been shown to create physical and mental resilience for people, even those who have been through extraordinarily traumatic life circumstances or medical situations.”

Science shows that the optimist outlook will be more proactive when it comes to their health, have better cardiovascular health and a stronger immune system, earn a higher income, have more successful relationships, and lengthen their lifespan!

Optimism is a Strategy that MUST be practiced daily.

Anyone can learn to be an Optimist and since the benefits are undeniable, let’s start training Today.

Constructing an optimistic vision of life allows you to live with Hope despite the Stuff life will throw at you.

Optimism reduces feelings of sadness/depression and anxiety.

Being optimistic allows you to handle stressful situations better, which reduces the harmful health effects of stress on your body.

Unless you believe that the future can be better, you are unlikely to step up and take responsibility for making it so.

Noam Chomsky

Whether you are a Glass is Half Full, or a Glass is Half Empty, there are steps you can take to become an Optimist and change the quality of your life!

1.    Protect your Gates. Your Eyes and Ears are the gates to your Castle…Your Mind. Aggressively Protect your mind from The Fear Mongers (news, social media, and your complaining, whining, blaming, excuse-making, and gossiping friends).

2.    Shut up & Move. Action is one of the greatest Confidence and Hope builders you have at your disposal 24 hours a day. Stop talking about what you are going to do and START DOING IT NOW!

3.    Have a Gratitude Journal. Every day before you go to bed, write down three things you are sincerely grateful for that happened that day. This should be the last thing you do before bed, so your brain has something positive to feed on instead of the junk food from one of the Fear Mongers!

4.    Study and Meditate on God’s Word. God is the author of Faith and Hope, which are the cornerstones of Optimism.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 KJV

The benefits of becoming an Optimist far outweigh the work it takes to break away from being a Pessimist.
