Self-Discipline is doing what you need to do, regardless of whether you want to do it.
This sounds like a key ingredient to Success, BUT all too often, it will lead to Pain and Shame!
Passion MUST be the cornerstone that guides your life, NOT Self-Discipline!
There was a time in my life that I was getting about 3 hours of sleep a night.
This lasted for about 9 months until my body and mind started to crash and burn.
I truly believed that I could change my life with willpower and Self-Discipline, including how much sleep you need to survive.
My Life consisted of working three jobs, running a business, and getting 3 hours of sleep each night.
This lifestyle ended with me getting fired from one of my jobs delivering newspapers.
I was coming into work late almost every day and started to hallucinate while delivering papers!
No matter how much willpower or Self-Discipline I had, it was not enough to overcome lack of sleep.
Getting Fired was the BEST thing that could have happened to me!
This became a catalyst in my life for change.
There is nothing wrong with having Self-Discipline or Will Power.
You will need them for any successful endeavor.
We get into trouble when Self-Discipline becomes the guiding light of your life.
When this happens, it will lead you, as it did me, to Pain and Shame!
Passion is Your KEY to mastering Self-Discipline.
Once you know WHY you must do what you do, the rest will fall into place.
Passion comes from God, based on the Purpose He has given for your life.
Self-Discipline comes from you, based on what you “Think or Feel” is best for your life.
One will lead you to fulfillment and Peace and the other to Pain and Shame.
Once I started to follow my Passion, I worked one job versus the three and ended up making 5 times the amount of money within six months!
As a bonus, I was getting 6 to 7 hours of sleep per night and not walking around like a zombie.
God has a plan for your life, and I guarantee it is so much easier than trying to do it your way!
