Opinions are Easy!
Everyone has them, BUT nobody cares what they are.
You do not have to work, study, have any involvement or credentials to have an opinion.
Your Opinion is ALL ABOUT YOU and is formed by You for You!
Opinions want to look good, be right, win the debate or argument, and at times be with the popular side. They are safe and stable. They provide intellectual shelter, and they give shape to our feelings and impulses.
Vision is Hard!
You will have to work, struggle, invest your time, money, reputation, and recourses.
Your Vision is ALL ABOUT OTHERS and is formed by God for YOU!
God has a vision for your life, marriage, kids, education, career, finances, relationships, and your body (health).
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
I was invited to an event about how to transform your Career, Community and City. They had assigned seating, and the person sitting next to me had opinions opposite of my own.
This was going to be a LONG night!
Once the speaker finished, he invited each table to share what their Vision is for their city.
As I was preparing myself to win any debate that was surely headed my way, the words of my opposite stopped me in my tracks.
They had a very similar Vision for the City as I did!
This shocked me, but as I have had time to think on that night I have come to this conclusion:
If we value our Opinions More than our Vision, we will desire Competition!
If we value our Vision More than our Opinions, we will desire Cooperation!
My opinions were keeping me disconnected from the very people I was here to try and help.
This happens every time because Opinions divide people, and Vision Connects people.
After the event ended, I went to this person and asked forgiveness, and since that time, we have collaborated on projects that serve our city.
Live and speak the Vision God gave you and learn to silence your Opinions.
Proverbs 29:18 Tells us that without a Vision, we perish. That we will become worn out in our purpose and become demoralized, living without passion or power!
The World and you are Created and governed by God. You are the work of His hands, and the only way YOUR life will have meaning is when you work the Vision He gave you.
