Once you Stop Following the Recipe, you put yourself in position to FAIL!

Setting yourself up to Fail forces you out of your “Safe Zone” and creates opportunities to learn and grow.

Putting yourself in a position to fail might sound opposite of what you were taught, but it’s more beneficial than you think.

Learning from our mistakes is one of the best ways to learn!

Intentionally setting yourself up for failure is a path few are willing to travel down.

When we put down someone else’s recipe, we are giving ourselves permission to SUCK!

I really enjoy being in the kitchen and creating meals. It is easy to cook when you follow a recipe.

There is little chance of messing it up, and there are times that is what’s called for.

The challenge we face is that we stunt our growth when we always play it safe.

Many of the meals I have created over the years have been disasters that only my dog would consume.

That said, when you are not afraid to fail, when you Stop Following the Recipe, you will be better for it in the long turn.

The more you struggle and intentionally create confusion by leaving your Safe Zone, the more you will learn.

Researchers have found that when you’re confused about conceptual topics, you tend to learn more effectively and bring that knowledge forward into new challenges.

Your goal is to intentionally dive into areas you’re interested in, even if you don’t know a lot about them.

The best way to learn to swim is to dive in! You put the pressure on to figure out how to succeed.

You can follow a recipe and cook a great meal, but you’re not really learning anything about cooking when you do that.

It is my hope you throw out whatever recipe you are using so that you learn to succeed through Failure!

Giving yourself permission to Suck makes those mistakes a lot less painful because YOU ARE INTENIALLY PLANNING TO FAIL.

Once you start living your life this way, the ripples of learning from your intentional failures affect all the other areas of your life that are hidden in the Safe Zone.

Throw off the bubble wrapping and break out of the box you’ve put yourself in.

It is your time to shine.

“When you reach for the stars, you may not quite get one, but you won’t come up with a handful of mud either.”
