Our Comfort Zone will always lead us to The Familiarity Zone.

We desire comfort because we are head over heels Addicted to the Familiar.

The Most important thing to us is the sensation of certainty (Familiarity), the feeling that we know what is going on.

The feeling that we are in CONTROL.

We would rather die in suffering than risk the unknown.

Returning day after day to consume our life’s vomit is more appealing than stepping into the world of pursuing our Purpose & Passion.

The simple, frightening truth about us is this:

We would happily sacrifice Happiness for Familiarity.

We would happily sacrifice Growth for Familiarity.

We would happily sacrifice Opportunities for Familiarity.

We would happily sacrifice Health for Familiarity.

We would happily sacrifice Success for Familiarity.

We would happily sacrifice our Passion for Familiarity.

How many times have we avoided opportunities to change with the excuse of not knowing “how to do it?”

Think about how Crazy this excuse is.

We came into this world only knowing how to breathe, cry, eat, and fill a diaper!

Everything else you NOW know how to do, you had to learn it the hard way.

You have bravely faced your fear of the unknown millions of times to discover knowledge.

So, what the HECK has happened to us?

When did we decide that “I don’t know how” was a reasonable excuse for avoiding action?

Why did we give up a way of living that helped us fulfill our Purpose & Passion?

We became Addicted to the Familiar the same way people become addicted to drugs.

It always starts small and seemingly harmless, but at some point, it will take us down a never-ending rabbit hole of pain.

The Familiarity Zone is the MOST dangerous place to be in all the world!

The problem with Familiarity and Comfort, as opposed to a drug, is that you can remain completely functional.

Most of us are in this Zone so we also have a lot of company and therefore it feels even more Familiar!

You can break this fear-based addiction the same way you became addicted.

Start Small!

No one becomes a drug addict overnight, just like there is no overnight success.

Take one area of your life and start growing, learning, trying, and risking.

We crawl before we walk.

Decide today is the first day of your sobriety from The Familiarity Zone!
