Fear, like Fire, needs 3 things to be successful: Fuel (Thoughts), Heat (Emotions), & Oxygen (Words). These 3 things make up The Fear Triangle.

Fuel for Fear starts small and begins in our thoughts or what we are thinking about.

What we think about, what we watch, what and who we listen to Matters.

A good Fire/Fear needs tinder, kindling, and logs (Thoughts), a Heat source (Emotions) arranged in a way that allows oxygen (Words) to circulate so the fire will thrive.

We have become so good at starting and building Fear in our lives.

Only YOU can prevent Fear Fires! (Hopefully when you said this you heard it in Smokey the Bears voice)!

Fear’s goal is To Steal, Kill & Destroy your Hopes, Dreams, Peace, Relationships, Finances, Health, Attitude, and your Purpose.

Firefighters are taught to eliminate at least one of the items from the Fire Triangle.

1.       Fuel: What you feed your mind. The things you watch, read, and listen to are either building your Faith or feeding your Fear. Put your brain on a diet of positive food. Fear begins with your Thoughts.

2.       Heat: Emotions that run wild. The more you feed your mind highly combustible fuel like the news and social media, the more your emotions will run Amok. You will keep replaying the Hot Emotions over and over in your mind creating a wildfire of fear.

3.       Oxygen: Words spoken in the form of Complaining, Blaming, Excuses, Whining, and Gossip are the Best ways to blow on the embers of Fear and create a full-blown inferno in your life!

Here are some tips to help you fight Fear:

1.       Trust God by bringing your Fears to Him. He created us and knows exactly what we need and want. No one cares more for you or understands you better!

2.       Take Action: Inaction breeds more Fear. It is paralyzing. Action breeds confidence and courage.

The starting point for action is to control your thoughts.

The best way to control Fear is to stop adding Fuel by changing what you think about.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” (Philippians 4:8).

What we allow into our minds is the most important decision we will make Today.
