Bandwagon fans are fans who have shown no past loyalty to a team or cause, and who only support them when they are doing well or are very popular at the moment.
Being a Bandwagon fan is easy!
All you have to do is follow the crowd. You side with the majority and the team or cause that’s hot right now.
Ever notice how people “suddenly” become fans of teams that are performing well?
A friend of mine changes teams at the same pace most people change their underwear!
He always wants to be with the in-crowd or flavor of the month.
Bandwagon fans for sports are annoying, but I can live with their lack of commitment because it’s just a game!
Watching and cheering for a sports team is fun, but it has no real value on life.
The big picture Causes in life that we cheer for are the real issues.
You CANNOT be a Bandwagon Fan of a Cause!
I have a test that I use to separate those people looking to make themselves Feel good by jumping on the bandwagon versus those who are committed.
There are two teams that I cheer for:
1. The Philadelphia Eagles
2. The Team playing the Dallas Cowboys
Each year we buy tickets to see a game, plane tickets, hotel rooms, travel expenses, jerseys, signage, and a number of times I painted my face Eagles green and black.
I would guess we have spent thousands and thousands of dollars and many vacation days being a fan of the Eagles.
You would not have to guess who I am a fan of. The evidence is all over the place.
There have been MANY years of losing seasons when it was not popular to be a fan, but that has never changed my commitment to being a fan.
Can you pass the test of being a real fan of a Cause?
Here is your test: Your checkbook and calendar are your report cards.
Take a look and see how much of your time and money you have invested over the last year to what you say you are a fan of.
You need to show consistent investments of time and money to show that you have not become a Bandwagon Fan of a popular Cause.
The World’s Causes do not need any more Fake Fans.
We need Men & Women who are willing to roll up their sleeves and get Invested and Involved.
Many years ago, I decided that one of my Main Causes in life would be to help Entrepreneurs.

I encourage you to become a Real Fan by doing more than jumping on the popular cause of the moment.
We have enough fickle people sitting in the stands cheering or holding signs on the street corners.
