Peter’s Passion for Christ gets him to step out of the boat and Walk on Water.
The boat was crowded with other people, but only Peter got out and walked on Water!
I would bet everything that the other men in that boat were trying to talk Peter out of trying to do the impossible.
Most of us would probably do the same thing to one of our friends or family members who were going to attempt something we thought was impossible.
Peter Walked on Water, then took his eyes off his Why and noticed the waves, wind, and darkness.
That is when he sank and had to be saved.
I’ve never cared about the part of the story where he failed.
Here is why this has always been one of my favorite stories and one of the motivators I have, to do what I do:
Everyone had the same opportunity to get out of the boat, but only Peter took action.
Peter did this in spite of the fact that his friends did not and were trying to talk him out of it.
He followed his Passion even though he was alone.
Peter Walked on Water for a couple of steps. He did what others believed was impossible.
He listened to the Fire burning on the inside and not the fear screaming on the outside.
He failed and had to be rescued.
Out of all the men in that boat, he is the only one who did not have regret. He took action.
Peter faced his fears.
A life of Passion will be a life of facing fears, failing more than anyone else, going it alone many times, and doing things most others think is crazy or impossible.
A life of Passion is also a life that has Meaning, Fulfillment, Energy, and a resume full of accomplishments that most people can only dream about!
A life without Passion is like a river without water. You are alive, BUT you are not Living!
You are committing Slow Suicide!
Passion is a higher state of being because it is the Expression of God in your life!
