Are you using this Pandemic as an Excuse for Poor Performance?
The easy response to an economic downturn or crisis is to hide behind it and use it as a crutch.
The problem, if you are using this crisis as a crutch and excuse, is Easy is NEVER Profitable!
Successful people take the road-less-traveled by seeking to find the best in a difficult situation.
Instead of using the Shelter at Home as an excuse for poor performance, you can see this as an Opportunity to: Change, Grow, Learn, Take Risks, Double down on your effort and action.
You can decide to see this crisis as a Great Opportunity or a Great Excuse!
For those of you who WANT to see the current situation as an Opportunity – here is a short to-do list:
Turn off the news and turn on something Motivational, Inspirational, or Educational. If you watch the news, you are planning to fail! Fear and negativity blind us to Opportunity. The reason you can’t see how great this time is because you’re Fear Blind.
Create a new routine/schedule based on the goals you want to achieve. Waking up and winging it is not a plan unless you like making excuses and being broke.
Read biographies about Men and Women who turned the terrible challenges into great opportunities.
This will give you hope, and hope gives you clarity, or a better way to say it: Hope gives you Crisis Vision Goggles – The ability to see in dark times!
Work on a skill you are currently lacking or have been afraid to tackle.
Now is a great time to work on your Communication, Sales, Writing, or Public Speaking skills.
In short, all times are great opportunity times if you will put yourself in a position to find the Opportunity that’s already there. It’s hiding behind the fear of this current crisis.
You will choose today which person you will be: An Excuse Maker, or Treasure Hunter!
