Before the fall of the Roman Empire, the quality of its army had begun to deteriorate.

The army grew weak from being idle during a long period of peace and stopped Preparing for War!

This made them vulnerable to an enemy and to the temptation to flee from a battle or struggle. They became SOFT!

“If you want peace, prepare for war.” Is a quote from one of the Roman Generals.

This is usually interpreted as peace through strength—a strong society being less likely to be attacked by enemies.

Prepare for War also applies to individuals…To Me & You!

Our greatest threat to a life of Peace, Success, and Fulfillment is the Enemy within!

Just like the Roman Army, we have become our greatest threat.

This quote by Author G. Michael Hopf applies:

“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”

We get so comfortable with our lives that we start to take our foot off the pedal and coast through life.

At first, this type of lifestyle seems perfect and we even rationalize that we DESERVE a break but it is a TRAP.

Many of the Hard times in life are self-inflicted because we created them in times of weakness!

I bet you can tell me story after story of how you allowed the enemies of your life (Security, Comfort, Apathy, Depression, Stress, Anxiety, and Fear) to creep into your life because you were still celebrating a past victory!

Every time I stop pushing, learning, saying no to entertainment and entitlements, or playing it safe, I allow the Trojan Horse into my life.

Preparing for War as an individual is not about building a bomb shelter under your home or moving your family off the grid to live in a cave.

To Prepare for War means YOU take the steps and strategies needed in your life, as the General of your life, to work on YOU to get stronger and better EVERY DAY.

Your enemies grow stronger during your times of craving comfort and security, laziness, fear, and apathy.

During times of Peace in our lives (when everything seems to be going well), it is tempting for many to ignore the threat of war and to divert money, time, and effort from getting better/stronger to entertainment/addictions!

Declare War on your bad habits, addictions, fears, idleness, apathy, lukewarm work ethic, lack of energy, being out of shape, and stinkin thinkin.

There are no time outs on the battlefield of life.

You are either advancing on your goals or surrendering to your daily feelings.

If you want Peace in your life, then you MUST Prepare For War!
