I learned 2 things playing Football as a young man (Before I developed Furniture Disease: Where my chest dropped to my Drawers!)
1. Most people do not like and will avoid getting hit.
2. Most people do not like and will avoid delivering a hit.
These can be a real challenge when you are playing a Full Contact Sport like Football!
Life is playing Tackle while most of us are playing Touch!
Life, like football, is a Full Contact Sport and if you hesitate or play it safe in the game of life…YOU LOSE.
Look carefully, and you will see the same two challenges in life as you do on the Football field: Most people do NOT want to hit or get hit.
Hitting in Life is all about being Proactive and Not Passive.
We must treat life like a Full Contact Sport because at the end of the day, there is a score that shows who won and who lost.
People who give work, business, marriage, or success at anything ‘A Try’ are the ones who are doing everything they can to avoid hitting (Taking risks and being Proactive) and getting hit (Failing and looking foolish).
Life is going to HIT YOU. There is NO way around this fact. Life will not hesitate or show mercy; she is going to come at you full speed and NOT care about playing fair!
There is a huge difference between giving something ‘a try’ and ‘being all in.’ It’s all about commitment. To succeed, your commitment level has to be ‘all in’ because ‘half-hearted’ and ‘I’m trying’ commitments don’t create success.
You cannot live your life as a side-line or spectator sport. It is something that we must get involved in and play with all of our hearts. If we expect life to have any meaning at all, we have to be ready to take and deliver hits.
Life is playing Tackle while most of us are playing Touch!
You cannot TRY to do a marriage, or TRY to raise children, or TRY to build a business, or TRY to have a successful job, or TRY to be Happy.
If you want to WIN at Life, then Play it as a Full Contact sport at Full Speed because Life is keeping score!
