Douglas Mawson was an Australian scientist who, in 1912, Endured a mission to explore Antarctica with two other scientists, a goal that had never worked out well for anyone.

One of his companions fell into a crevasse, dragging one of their sleds, most of their supplies, and dogs down with him. They were around 310 miles from home.

In order to get back to base, Mawson was going to have to walk through a lifeless ice desert without shelter and only a third of the food required to make the journey

Eventually, his other companion died from cold and exhaustion, leaving Mawson to Endure alone. Suffering conjunctivitis and frostbite so bad that his skin, his hair, and the soles of his feet began to fall off, Mawson continued onward.

He Endured 32 days in the harshest environment on the planet only to reach camp two hours after the only ship had sailed off, believing him dead.

Mawson sent this telegram to his fiancee: “Deeply regret delay only just managed to reach camp.”

The trials we face in life can become our Motivation or our Memorial service.

We will decide to become Better or Bitter!

I love the attitude that Mr. Mawson displayed after Enduring 32 horrific days in a Frozen Hell. Instead of complaining and whining to his fiancée, he simply states the fact he will be late.

The achievement of any goal or worthwhile cause will DEMAND a lifestyle of Enduring.

You will have to create a mindset that screams to the world I WILL NOT QUIT…I WILL ENDURE!

You and I have the power to decide how we will face the challenges set before us. We can learn to Endure the hardships the Bully called life throws at us, or we can curl up in the fetal position and wait for the preacher to read us our last rights.
