Anchor’s Aweigh is part of the Navy fight song that represents the call to bring up the Anchors and get going!

This should be your song to get you started for this New Year.

An Anchor was created to temporarily keep a ship stopped in one location, but it was never intended to be a bottom feeder as its purpose.

In the next two weeks, I want you to take inventory of your relationships and decide which ones are anchors. These are the ones that are helping you to stay in the same position each year.

The Anchor loves to sink quickly just like some friends who always bring drama and gossip.

The Anchor is happiest hanging out at the bottom just like friends who rationalize why they and YOU cannot get free.

Anchors are very good at getting stuck on things just like some who get offended at the drop of a hat.

A good Anchor will drag itself across the lowest part of the ocean floor similar to friends who whine and complain about work daily.

The best Anchors are very heavy and once they settle will fight to stay in that place like the friend who makes excuses as to why they are the way they are.

In the Navy when they are ready to move, the Captain will give the command, Anchor’s Aweigh. At that order, every anchor is forcibly released from the ocean bottom, and all hands are on deck at their post.

It’s time for you, the Captain of your life, to give the order, Anchor’s Aweigh and release all the Anchors in your life!

The truth is, it’s way past Time for you to remove all those people who are causing/bringing drama, excuses, whining, rationalizations, and gossip to you on a consistent basis.

You do not need more Anchors in your life. Go out and find some Sails.

Anchor’s Aweigh!
