One of my favorite ways to cook is to create, which means I do not follow any recipe. Whatever I find in the refrigerator or pantry that looks interesting or exciting is going in!
This type of Cooking/Creating has led to a few epic dishes that everyone loves but the overwhelming majority of the time it ends up as dog food!
Here is the key to going off the reservation and not using a recipe; if I have made this dish many times and feel comfortable with it, I will then experiment with many other ingredients.
I will use a recipe only if it’s something I’ve never made before. This way I have a very high probability of success as a beginner!
You MUST use this principle in life also.
When you decide to change an area of your life or reach for a point of success that you have not mastered, then you MUST follow a recipe!
The creating stage happens after you have mastered the simple principles of success in a certain area.
One of the biggest roadblocks to your success is that you will NOT strictly follow a proven recipe in the beginning.
Too many times we say we want to make more money, lose weight, have a better marriage or learn a new skill, but then we go out and start adding all these things that sound and look good in the mix.
This leads us to one failure after another, and at some point, you will give up.
To create success in an area of your life find a recipe from someone who has MASTERED that area and copy their recipe.
For years I tried to lose weight my way – which means I would lose it and then gain it back along with a few extra pounds each time.
My weight was a Yo-Yo and only lead to one frustration after another.
That’s when we found a nutritionist and followed her recipe to the letter. I lost 50 pounds and regained my health!
Success is never as hard as we make it out to be. There are proven recipes for every type of success that you are looking for.
Follow the Recipe, master it, and then you have the freedom to start creating it to find even more levels of success!
