Renter verses Owner

Like most people I have rented more homes than I’ve owned. There is a HUGE difference between being a Renter and an Owner.

The difference between Renting and Owning something is Commitment!

Renting is easy and convenient. It does not take much effort or thought. If I wanted to rent a car, home or even a tuxedo all it would take is a deposit and at most a couple hours of effort to get it done.

As a Renter, you are not tied to anything, and if something comes along you like better well all it takes is to give notice and turn it in!

Have you noticed how people treat something that is Rented verses something that they own?

Rental car companies have to recycle cars constantly even though they have less than 50,000 miles on them because of the way they are driven.

Most of us who own a car will try and drive it for at least 100 to 200 Thousand miles before getting another one! We do this because we own it and have made a major investment in the car = Commitment!

Rental homes have the same problems. Every couple of years they have to replace carpeting, fixtures, and appliances because of the treatment they receive.

Every one of us has the mentality of a Renter or Owner, and the litmus test is always your level or lack of commitment.

Look at your job and answer the question are you a renter or owner of this position? Job renters are always looking for something better because they feel the grass is always greener somewhere else.

Job Renters don’t want to make an investment in a company with their time, energy, resources and ideas because in their minds it’s easier than making it their own.

Owning your job takes the same commitment as saying “I Do” at the altar. You make a decision that no matter what else comes along this is the ONE!

You stop looking around, and you start to make it your OWN.  Any job can be a dream job all you have to do is own it by making the commitment.

Stop Renting your life. You were meant to be an Owner!
