As a young man, I never thought much about Legacy or the day that we will stop living.  Now as an older man, on the back nine of life, I think a lot about what I’ve done or haven’t done with my life.

How about you? What will your work and life add up to? When we pass from this world what will people

say about us and will there be any evidence of our lives outside of our children?

Is your job, clients, family, neighborhood, church and City better off now because of the way you lived?

Did you change people’s lives in a meaningful way which alters that family’s bloodline for generations?

Let’s, for the sake of argument, take out of this legacy talk what we do for our families. We are all highly motivated to help and serve our spouses, children, and grandchildren.

What I really want to know is how did we affect our jobs, workers, clients, and Community?

Will your legacy be what most Americans are currently building?

He lived for the weekend!

She saved, planned for and loved vacations.

They were always really excited and energetic about getting off work.

He was a master complainer about the job.

She was a drama Queen!

The largest time investment in our lives goes towards our work each day. When that produces frustration, anxiety, anger, discontentment and depression we are building a legacy of Chaos!

There is no way to separate the ill will you feel about your job from the other areas of your life.

Your kids, spouse, clients, customers, and co-workers will ALL be affected by your poor attitude.

You will infect all of them with your mental cancer that will continue to build a legacy of Chaos!

No matter what your job is, you have the opportunity to use it to change the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people for the better or the worse.

What type of Legacy are you building today? The answer is in your attitude toward your work!
