Being involved is the price of Change

The news this week is filled with students protesting about gun violence.  I applaud their desire to exercise their 1st amendment right to make schools safer.  I do wonder how many of them are involved with helping the thousands of students who commit suicide each year due to bullying.

Being Involved is the price of Change!

Being a Protester/Complainer is the price of Control!

You cannot change the world, or a school, until you change yourself. Anyone can pick up a sign to protest the wrongs they see in the world.

The world is changed by your Actions, Involvement and Serving others NOT by your Opinions!

Being involved requires YOU to invest your time, your money, your heart, your resources, and your abilities. It’s HARD work, and it’s time-consuming. This is going to cost ALL of you because that’s what change demands.

Protesting and complaining EASY.  It only requires a little time. There is no real investment on my part because all of the pressure is on those we want to change. I have NO responsibility in Protesting!

Only about 20% of the people are Involved in the lives of others working hard to bring about change. You can see these people easily. They are the ones who are helping, giving, and serving consistently the people they are hoping to bring change to.

It’s also easy to see the Arm Chair “Changers”. They are the ones fighting to be interviewed, get their picture in the paper, join the masses that are protesting, and complain incessantly about why the world needs to change. They are not willing to serve and change themselves but just give advice on how the rest of us should change.

Do you truly want to make a difference and change the world? I hope you do and if so, it starts with changing yourself, and as you do it this way, it will lead you to serving others instead of trying to control them!
