Our Nation has become so addicted to the Crack Candy that the Entertainment and Media Industries are producing. We are conditioned to jump on every salacious and gossipy headline, even though deep down on the inside we know it’s wrong!
We need an Intervention!
The war for your mind began many years ago and the Media worlds are now experts on how to distract and control us.
If our homes were under siege from intruders who were hell bent on taking our stuff and/or our lives, we would do whatever it took to stop them.
Our minds have been under siege for years and, sadly, we are going without a fight. We have become so addicted to entertainment and media that we are not much different from the drug addict.
Try turning off your TV, stop going on Facebook or other social media outlets, putting down the gossip magazines or, God forbid, only use your phone to take calls and return emails!
Go ahead and try it…I dare you! Try it with your kids and their video games and TV shows.
You will get the same result as you would when someone gives up a drug, alcohol or even coffee!
I have never been addicted to drugs or alcohol, but I am to coffee and sugar. Each time that I have stopped consuming these so called harmless things my body goes through 2 to 4 weeks of pain and lack of energy.
There was a time after our first business failure that we sold our TV because we needed money. The first couple of weeks were very awkward and frustrating. Since we had no money, we had no choice but to learn to live without a major addition…TV.
As I look back at those 2 years we lived without TV and the internet, I can honestly say they were the greatest growth years of our lives! We learned and grew more in that time than in any other period of time.
We were forced into an Intervention because of a business failure.
You don’t have to go cold turkey but you do have to understand your mind is under siege and has become addicted to the Crack the Media and Entertainment worlds are feeding us.
