“Not all men seek rest and peace; some are born with the spirit of the storm in their blood.” Robert E. Howard

When I read this quote I always think about Teddy Roosevelt. He was a big believer in “the life of strenuous endeavor” or in other words having the Spirit of the Storm in your blood.

Mr. Roosevelt wrote 35 books, fought in the Spanish-American war, led two major scientific expeditions, and won the Nobel Peace Prize. Most notably he was the 26th president of the United States.

He died in his sleep in 1919 and the vice-president said, “Death had to take him sleeping, for if Roosevelt had been awake there would have been a fight.”

Teddy Roosevelt’s life is the picture of what this quote by Robert Howard means!

FIGHT everything in life that will keep you in the status quo!

FIGHT against the Entitlement Mentality!

FIGHT against Your Comfort Zones!

FIGHT against the Employee Mentality!

FIGHT against your desire to quit!

FIGHT against the pull to follow the masses!

FIGHT against playing it Safe!

FIGHT against being Good when GREAT is there for the taking!

You have a decision to make today. Will you attack this day with all the energy, enthusiasm and passion you have or will you go through the motions praying for the weekend?

You and ONLY YOU decide what you will clothe yourself in each day…A spirit of fear or the Spirit of the STORM.

Mr. Roosevelt faced every day with a strenuous endeavor. He did not wait for life to come to him; he went out and took it! He acted not reacted. He was proactive, not passive!

What are your plans for today and this week? Will you be satisfied with just getting by and making it to the weekend? If so, then your life will be one of regret and disappointment.

I have always said that I would rather die poor, burned out and broken, because of all the failures, than to play it safe and die regretting not trying to do the so called impossible.

Get out of bed and seize your life by STORM!
