You are a movie star! You have been in more movies than Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts combined. Your string of ongoing movies is called Theater of the Mind, and you are the lead actor in it. Every day you replay the film in your mind of events you have faced, are facing, or will face.
You are not only the lead actor, but you are also the writer, producer and critic! YOU decide every day what your movie will be: action, romance, drama, success or failure, comedy or tragedy types of movies.
Whether you like it or not, your mind is going to play a lot of movies today, and since that is a given… WHY NOT play a GOOD one? You get to decide what happens in your movie. Will you succeed or fail, will you find the answer or help you need, or will your movie be a tragedy like the Titanic where almost everyone dies?
Visualization has been PROVEN to Help or to Hurt you. You get to decide. Will you be a Hero or a Zero? Why is it that since we are in charge of our own theaters, we continue to play country music types of sad, depressing movies, losing at everything and crying for our Mommies at the end?
How many times have you tried something or continued to do something that ended in failure, and you thought, “I knew that was going to happen”? WHY is that? If you are the writer and producer of your movie, then why does it have to end in failure and frustration?
If you do not like the outcome of your life movie, then rewrite the script! You can’t fire the writer and producer, but you can have a talk with yourself!
You are going to run movies every day in your minds theater, so make them blockbusters! See yourself where you want to be, doing and having what you want to have… and stop seeing yourself failing.
Visualization will NOT solve all your problems. You still need to follow up with practice, good coaching and mentors, but without the right movie ending, the Critic (YOU) will chew you up and spit you out!
