IS OUR VISION TOO SMALL

You have the choice to see life through a microscope, a telescope or from a panoramic view. We could argue the benefits of each of these views and even declare that all of them are valuable, but only one of them allows us to see life in its complete organic form.

If you have ever had the opportunity to go for a ride in one of those horse and buggies they have in bigger cities, you know that the horse will normally have blinders on – those walls on either side of his eyes to keep him focused on the road ahead. They do this so the horse does not get distracted or scared, and it works great if you are a horse!

I followed this type of vision for most of my life: microscope or telescope. They were great at helping me achieve personal goals and strengthening my focus. The downside to this type of living is there is very little opportunity for connection.

Connection is the greatest reason we are here on this planet! Something very powerful happens when we connect with others. Connection breeds collaboration, not competition! When I run with my blinders on, I am always competing with the world, but when my vision is open, I have opportunity to connect, and that’s when the miracle of collaboration begins.

Our small vision keeps us from connecting with each other, and then all we do is compete and disagree!

Parents’ vision is only on their children, and they miss the bigger picture of parenting their city.

Students’ vision is only on their grades, and they miss the bigger picture of mentoring their class.

Business people’s vision is only on their customers, and they miss the bigger picture of serving their city.

Pastors’ vision is only on their church and they miss the bigger picture of ministering their City.

What if our Vision was bigger than our Opinions? What if what we wanted to see in our children, students, families, neighborhoods, business, churches and cities was bigger than our personal opinions?

Can you imagine the collaboration we would have if we could make our vision bigger than our opinions? This would drive us to connect with people who are different from ourselves, and once we connect we have POWER!

Think about what you have right now. What would happen if you and I decided to have a vision bigger than our individual needs, family, business, and church? What if we take the blinders off and see the whole view instead of what just pertains to me and mine? Is our Vision too small?

Once our Vision is greater than our opinions…Prepare for Miracles!

Find your Passion and you will find your life!
