When we put together a jigsaw puzzle, we understand that the pieces have specific locations. Each piece was made to fit perfectly into the others around them. You cannot force a piece to fit into a spot for which it was not specifically created. Sometimes out of frustration, we try to manipulate one piece that is close to the correct size and shape into a space that looks right at first glance. However, all we get is more frustration and a somewhat damaged piece! As you guessed, the jigsaw puzzle I am referring to is our lives.

I joined the Military when I was 17 because it was a really close fit. It seemed like it was a perfect fit, yet for eight years I was frustrated trying to connect the link smoothly while bits of the edges began to frazzle and wear. Eight years is a long time to keep pounding on one piece of your puzzle trying to finagle it into place. Finally, I realized that my piece belonged in another area surrounded by all new pieces. Once I learned where my piece “fit” into life’s puzzle, the realization and acceptance of the true shape of my piece created “peace.”  When you feel the soft click of a perfect fit, the puzzle picture comes into beautiful focus. We call it vision!

Once you know where you belong, you will understand whom it is you were created to connect with and support. This is what unleashes your Passion! Each puzzle piece is designed to unite with specific other pieces in the puzzle. You and I are part of the puzzle to make a complete picture, but we have a specific place in the puzzle. Our lives are the same; we have a specific group of people we were uniquely created for. Until you find who that is, much like I did in the Military, you will continue to try to squeeze into an area that does not fit you, and all we get from that is frustration.  What part of the puzzle are you? More importantly, who are the people/puzzle pieces you will link with a soft click of a perfect fit? When one person is not in perfect harmony with the complete picture of life, it also affects the lives of everyone else, especially those with whom we are supposed to be connected. Those others need you as much as you need them.

Next week we will discover who lights our Fire.

Find your passion and you will find your life!
